And I knew he had just returned from visiting his 89-year-old parents, and that it might be the last time he sees his dad, for his life was coming to the end. So I asked him, \u201cHow was your trip with your dad?\u201d<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">And he said, \u201cIt was good, we got to spend some good quality time together. My mom was there most of the time, holding his hand. And at one point I overheard a conversation. My dad said, \u2018Honey, I\u2019m not sure that I\u2019m going to heaven.\u2019 And my mom squeezed his hand and said, \u2018Oh, honey, you\u2019re a good man.\u2019\u201d<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">And Doug said he didn\u2019t know what to say. So he looked at me and said, \u201cJodi, what would you have said?\u201d<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">And I responded, \u201cWell, I probably would have read Romans 10:9 to him out of the Bible, that says, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, that you will be saved.\u201d<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Doug\u2019s response was, \u201cIs that it? That\u2019s all you need to do?\u201d And I said, \u201cYeah, that\u2019s what the Bible says. So I probably would have asked him if he believed that and then prayed with him.\u201d<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">With tears in his eyes, Doug said, \u201cWow, I need to go call my mom.\u201d<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">So, when I least expected it \u2014 watching football on a Sunday afternoon with a neighbor that doesn\u2019t invite spiritual conversations very often \u2014 God opened a door for us to have that great spiritual conversation.<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>https:\/\/youtu.be\/tTAI_Q7pYO4 Transcript: Hi, I\u2019m Jodi, and I\u2019ve come to believe that God opens doors when we least expect it.
